The City of Tallulah's code enforcement officer is responsible for enforcing all city and state laws that prohibit the existence of conditions that are deemed to be hazardous to public health, safety, and the welfare of our
Some of the areas of enforcement pertain to public nuisances, abandoned or junk automobiles, grass and weeds, liquid waste, litter, dangerous structures, and quality of life issues.
To register a complaint or to inquire about a citation, please call Stan Livingston, code enforcement officer.
Citizens charged with violations of city codes will be summonsed to Tallulah
City Court. If they are found guilty of the violations, the will be fined
as prescribed by the applicable city codes.
The city's newly revised property codes requires the inspection of all commercial
and residential buildings to assure all code requirements have been met, before
an occupancy permit is issued for the use of the building. The occupancy permit
is not issued until the building is in full compliance with all city, state
and federal requirements.
JUNK VEHICLES
A vehicle is considered a junk vehicle if it does no have a current vehicle registration sticker, or a current vehicle inspection sticker. It is estimated there are more than 200 junk vehicles within the two square mile area of the city.
